So… about that small blogging gap (only 14 years)
According to Blogger, my last post here was on **30 March 2011**.
Which means this blog hasn’t been *quiet* — it’s been in a medically impressive digital coma.
Back in 2011, I wasn’t running anything. I was just a member. Using tools. Learning. Doing what most people do online: trying to make things work without reinventing the wheel.
Then the original owner, Darryl, shut **12 Second Commute** down for technical reasons.
And that should’ve been the end of it.
Except I was actively using it. It worked. It filled a genuine gap. And watching it disappear didn’t sit right with me at all. So instead of shrugging and moving on like a sensible person… I ponied up, took it over, and kept it alive.
Not because it was flashy. Not because it was trendy. But because it *did the job*.
While blogs slept, platforms came and went, and PHP aged like unrefrigerated dairy, **12 Second Commute** kept running. Quietly. Reliably. Without hype, fake screenshots, or “only 3 spots left” nonsense.
If you’re wondering what I’ve actually been doing instead of blogging here for the last decade-plus, this is it:

Will I suddenly become a regular blogger now?
Let’s not promise miracles.
But if a blog can survive a 14-year silence, it probably deserves an honest explanation — and maybe the odd update going forward.
Consider this the reboot. Or the confession. Or just me finally owning the fact that I should’ve written this years ago.
Cheers,
Trevor
